Becoming a Mom: The Birth Story That Changed Everything

May 12, 2025

With some time off and my ever-growing love for writing (and sharing experiences), I’ve decided to shift my lifestyle blog to reflect what’s currently at the center of my world: becoming a mom. On January 19, 2025, I became a mother to the most beautiful little girl, and life hasn’t been the same since—in the best, wildest, and most sleep-deprived way possible.

The days leading up to her arrival were anything but calm. On January 15, I celebrated my birthday. The very next day, I went to a routine maternal fetal medicine appointment—and plot twist: my blood pressure was sky-high. I was told I’d need to head to the hospital “just for a few hours” to be monitored. (Spoiler alert: it was not a few hours.) That quick pit stop turned into several days, a failed induction, and eventually a scheduled C-section—both of which were high on my personal list of “Things I Was Hoping to Avoid.” And just as I was breathing a sigh of relief, along came a surprise encore: postpartum preeclampsia. (Didn’t even know that was a thing. New fear unlocked!)

After several extra days in the hospital and a magnesium sulfate drip that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, we finally got the green light to go home. And honestly? I thought people were kind of delusional when they talked about the overwhelming joy of parenthood. But here I am, completely smitten, waking up at 5 a.m. with a smile on my face because I get to start my day with her… by the way hopefully you made it this far, her name is Ava.

I know this season will shift again—especially when I return to work (even from home)—but right now, I’m soaking up the magic of it all. So, if you’ve followed me for lifestyle content, buckle up, because now you’re getting mom life content, too. I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. 💕👶✨
