This year changed everything. 💛 I became a mom on January 19, and hours later faced my biggest fear with severe preeclampsia. Coming that close to death changes how you live. Happy 80th Birthday to my amazing Grandma Margaret-Rose 💛

An incredible chef who worked at multiple hotels, a woman who got up early every morning to do what she loved, and someone whose passion and work ethic I’ve always admired. She has a true love for travel and adventure and made sure my brother and I experienced the world right alongside her.

She taught me so much about independence, resilience, and dreaming big, and she played a huge role in making sure I could come all the way to America to go to college. I am endlessly grateful for her sacrifices, guidance, and love.

Cheers to 80 beautiful years and a lifetime of memories still to come ✨

I hope my daughter looks at the relationship between her dad and me and learns this: the love of her life will hold up a magnifying glass to her light, helping her shine even brighter. Someone who supports her dreams, encourages her goals, brings her peace, and makes space for joy so big she dances in the middle of the day, just because she’s happy. 💛

I baked cookies while rocking to Elvis in the kitchen.

Our Christmas tree always goes up early, and it’s one of my favorite traditions. We’ve collected ornaments from every place we’ve been, plus ones gifted from people we love and from each other. Every ornament has a story… a hobby, a passion, an adventure, or a someone behind it.

From the little general store in Rabbit Hash, to Boone County Distillery, to the Atlantic City ornament from the very first birthday we spent together, our tree basically doubles as a scrapbook.

But this year? The tree is up… and the ornaments are still in their box. And honestly, that’s becoming part of our story too. Because every time we have a free moment, we choose to snuggle Ava instead of decorating.

The ornaments can wait. These moments can’t.

I once heard, “there’s a difference between being with the man you pick and being with the man who picks you.”

And honestly, it hits. There’s a different kind of peace when someone chooses you on purpose; shows up, values you, and you don’t have to shrink or convince.

Now I hope he sees this and takes me to Hobby Lobby or goes and grabs some stuff for me.
